“Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.” 2 Timothy 2:3 (NIV)

Christians may be hesitant to become a disciple or follower of Christ due to the changes they will have to make. Becoming a disciple requires hard work, but the benefits truly outweigh the negatives. When we decide to become a disciple, we must also become selfless. Our flesh must not overshadow what we must do to please God and to win souls. Our earthly desires must take a backseat for the greater goal of helping people learn about Christ and to ensure that they know how to have everlasting life. I encourage novice and veteran Christians to take the challenge of becoming a disciple. As a disciple, you will not sit on the sidelines. You will get in the trenches and do what is necessary to lead more people to Christ. This means getting out in the community, churches, and schools.
