Changes in Relationships

Written by KCC Devotion Team  |  Found in: Discipleship

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” Luke 14:26

Devoting your life to becoming a disciple of Christ may bring upon the fear of losing relationships such as friends, family members, or a significant other. Some friends will be understanding and may seek to go on that journey with us. Other friends may not be so understanding because to them, we will be a changed person. This change may come in the form of us not hanging out as much and not doing the same things we used to do. When we decide to follow Christ, there will be a noticeable change in our behavior. Even the way we speak may appear different to our friends and family. However, these should all be good changes that will make us better people. I encourage anyone seeking to become a disciple to pray and ask God for strength to deal with those lost or changed relationships.
