Guided by the Light of Truth

Written by KCC Devotion Team  |  Found in: Guided by the Light of Truth

“Send one of you, and let him fetch your brother, and ye shall be kept in prison, that your words may be proved, whether there be any truth in you: or else by the life of Pharaoh surely ye are spies.” Genesis 42:16 (King James Version)

The good ole days when it was a cultural standard that our word was our bond seems to be gone. When we said that we would be somewhere at a certain time, it was so. We would say we were going to do so and so, it was as good as done because we gave our word on it. Our word could be tested over and over again and we would pass with no fail in sight. Why? It was because truth was in us. It was fed into our being. If that did not work, it was beat into us. The older folks back in the day believed if you would lie, you would steal, and if you would steal, you would kill so they attempted to drive dishonesty out and integrity in. We were raised to say what you mean and mean what you say. Saints, let us go back to the old landmark of “honor among words.”
