Guided by the Light of Truth
“But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’ But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” 1 Corinthians 2:9-11 (New King James Version)
God will not ask you to do anything not knowing what lies ahead. This is the part of the relationship with Him that requires us to trust His leading, to trust His Holy Spirit. There is only but so much leading we will be able to receive from humans. God expects that we are guided by others but not to the point in which we don’t seek His leading and truths. We accomplish this by prayer, fasting, and studying His Word. This is where we gain spiritual wisdom and the knowing of what He wants for us to do with what He reveals to us. This does not dismiss the need for spiritual leadership; it simply lets us know that the key to understanding God’s wisdom lies with the Spirit. No individual possesses the ability to know God or God’s wisdom; only God can know God. Therefore, the Spirit knows the things of God because the Spirit is God and it would benefit us to be guided by Him.
