Inherited Caring

Written by KCC Devotion Team  |  Found in: Caring for Others

“But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God.” 1 Timothy 5:4 (NIV)

As parents, we know that we are going to grow old one day and may need someone to take care of us. It is our responsibility to raise our children to live holy and to make good decisions. When children are taught in this way, they are in a better position to acquire the means to be a blessing to God and others. They will also be able to care for their parents and other family members when they can no longer care for themselves. God never meant for us to have just enough for ourselves. He wants us to believe in Him for an abundance of resources! He wants us to believe that we can have that dream job or that mansion overlooking the lake! Parents, teach your children to work hard and develop a mindset of caring for others.
