Mind Renewal

Written by KCC Devotion Team  |  Found in: Empowered

“That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.” Philippians 3:10

How can I settle the doubtful areas in my mind?  Make pursuing and pleasing God your ultimate aim.  Before consistent mind renewal can take place, we must make the decision to pursue God.  Once our will has been set, the mind renewal process becomes set.  This does not mean that the way we think changes overnight, but our commitment to the process of changing our thought patterns does change—for good.  Paul is an example of a believer that had set his will to please and pursue God.  Nothing was more important to Paul than knowing God, and Paul realized that mind renewal was the only way to know God’s ways and plans for his life.  Many of us are struggling with letting go of the way we used to think, because we still have not made the decision to please God before anyone or anything else in our lives.  Your mind and your thoughts will follow the direction that your will is facing.  If your will is facing a direction that leads to wealth, your mind will focus in that same direction.  Set your will to know Christ, and watch your mind follow.  Pursue Him as if your life depended upon it, because in actuality it does.  The state of our lives depends upon the intensity of our pursuit of God.  Once your will is set to follow and please Christ, your thoughts will shift in the same direction.
