“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon." Isaiah 58:10 (NLT)

It is important that we as Christians remember to help those in need any time of the year and not just during the holidays – Thanksgiving and Christmas. There are so many things that we can do that are within reasonable means that will help those in need as well as ourselves. Let us not be focused more on what to wear to church than we are on the person sitting next to us who may need a meal, a pair of shoes, or heat and lights in their home. Let us be more focused on uplifting our brothers and sisters, caring for the poor and elderly, assisting the widows and orphans, loving the rejected, and comforting the heartbroken. Giving service is more than just a pat on the back to someone who is already a friend, but it requires us to go the extra mile.
