Let’s Talk About

HANDLING DEATH & DYING BETTER

Dying is a part of living. That is a very simple and profound statement, and for most people, it is a statement that carries little impact until it becomes personal. When people experience the pain of losing a loved one, the event is often times life-changing. As a Believer, those changes do not have to lead to depression, illness, or emotional break-downs.  These timeless truths will also empower you to successfully navigate through your own personal stages of grief and the eternal joy of celebrating life.

YOU HAVE QUESTIONS & WE HAVE ANSWERS

Why did God take my loved one?

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 reminds us that there is a time to live and a time to die. Death is a part of the cycle of life. If you don’t settle in your heart that dying is a part of the living experience, and every time somebody dies, you will feel like God has betrayed you or punished you somehow. God is not like that. We may not understand why our loved one is gone, but we can be assured that God’s love is here with us to comfort and console us. (Psalm 34:18)

Is there a wrong or right way to grieve the loss of my loved one?

There is no cookie-cutter way formula for grieving. You may go through times of shock, anger, denial, and sadness and then experience acceptance and the regaining of hope after the loss of your loved one. Everyone grieves differently because of how we are uniquely made by God. However, it does not honor your loved one if you give up on life. You can find comfort in the scriptures, the support of others, and talk to God about how you feel. (Isaiah 53:4)
