We know that Easter is not about bunnies and eggs, but about God loving us so much that He did not want to be apart from us.  Sin (choosing to do things our own way instead of God’s way) is what separates us from God.  When sin was introduced into the world thousands of years ago, we were separated from God.  Jesus was the only person who had never sinned.  The only way we could get back to God was for Someone who had never sinned to offer their life so that we all could choose to live with God.  That person was Jesus.  He gave His life on the cross for us.  But God resurrected (brought Him back to life) and Jesus is alive!  Because Jesus lives, WE can choose to accept God and His ways.  That is why we celebrate Easter.
